I was shocked and saddened to learn of Mr. Scriber's passing. Like many of his ilk, I viewed him as the "Everready Bunny" who kept going and going. But as Scripture poignantly reminds, "...to everything is a season..." Mr. Scriber was the consummate civil servant as demonstrated by his indefatigable work ethic. Of the many titles that he possessed, the one that epitomized him was ombudsman. He tirelessly and unrelentingly devoted himself to championing the needs of Baltimore's underserved, marginalized, and often forgotten citizens. Accordingly, Mr. Scriber will be sorely missed and mourned by the many people who benefited from his labors. On a lighter note, Baltimore Housing will miss their resident GQ celebrity. Well done O' GOoD and faithful servant!

To the Scriber Family,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of my cousin, Reginald Scriber, Sr. Though I never had the chance to meet him in-person (we did speak on the telephone several years ago), I want you to know that I share in your sorrow and am keeping your family in my thoughts during this difficult time.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I hope that the love and memories you hold bring you comfort and peace.
With sympathy,
Veronica

My sincere condolences to the family. Reggie was my neighbor for many years as well as a colleague. We often collaborated to help the citizens of Baltimore City. He was genuine, and a bold defender of the disadvantaged. Praying that his family finds peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Mr. Scriber helped my family by righting a wrong that one of the public housing complexes falsified their paperwork to try to say that my wife before our marriage, was evicted. After calling his office, my wife and I visited his office and proved our case and he listened with no prejudgement. From that meeting, my family was able to get housing and because of him and his administration, we were no longer homeless. He was a great man. A man who made a living of helping people and working out miracles is truly going to be missed and will always be remembered.

I am so sorry for your loss. Reggie was a great person. I interacted with him while I was working for DHCD. He was so kind in helping others who were threatened with turn off notices, evictions and other unfortunate situations. The entire DHCD was there to assist him. He made a difference and this is a great loss! He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Reggie!

I was saddened to learn of Reg's passing. As a retiree of BGE, Reg and I addressed numerous customer issues affecting limited-income families in Baltimore City. I truly appreciated Reg's approach to issues resolution, and he always had financial incentives in aiding our mutual families in staying connected to utility setvices. RIP - you kind and gentle warrior for Human Rights and Poverty solutions.
