Leslie was a kind and loving young lady who cared so very much about family and friends. The fact that she is with her sister Evette and my son Erskine Jr, gives both of our families some peace. Leslie will always be with us and watching over her family. We love and truly miss her.

Leslie was my sophomore year roommate at Hampton University. I remember her to be a pleasant, soft spoken person with a good sense of humor, and a beautiful smile. She was patient, and tidy, and all that a person could ask for in a roommate. I’m so very sorry to hear of her returning to spirit so soon. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends who loved her most.

I'm sorry Sadie, Alfred, Aaron and family for your loss. I'm sorry I never got a chance to meet Leslie. She looks like a beautiful woman. She looks like her dad Alfred Perkins. And can see her mom Sadie Perkins in her too. I am so sorry her life was cut short. I know she is blessed and she is now in heaven with God. Sadie and Al this is your nephew Hartley, love you and miss you, God bless.

Leslie was one of the nicest people I knew. I met her in 1996 when I started Hampton’s Chemical Engineering program and her and the other ChemEs welcomed me into their circle. While I don’t see her after graduation, we would catch up by phone every few months and it would seem like the times we spent at our Home by the Sea. I am so sadden to hear about her passing. I’m sincerely praying for the family. Rest in eternal peace and know that you positively impacted lives during your time here on earth.

Rest in Heavenly Peace, Leslie. I am blessed to have worked with you at the USNRC. You are missed, but not forgotten. I will miss our chats about your travels with your mom and how proud you were of your brother and his continued success in his practice.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Perkins family. I pray that memories of good times with Leslie will fill your hearts in the coming days.

Just wanted to say that I will miss your laugh, your sense of humor and all of the time we were able to spend together. Teachers always confused our names, nobody ever guessed one of my middle names before you, You reassured me it was ok as that was your moms name too, after that I dont recall being so ashamed about that name since. I will miss our get togethers and all of the birthdays we shared. You were a good friend to me since high school and I will always remember you and keep you in my heart. I am so sad you are no longer here but God had greater for you. Until we meet again!

Leslie was the very first friend I had when I moved to Maryland, 35 years ago. She and I would play Barbies next to each for hours, in silence, enjoying the quiet companionship of each other’s shyness.

I searched high and low for photos from those first years of friendship, but the only one I could find was this one from high school. I still hate to have my picture taken, and Leslie never lost her “light up a room” smile.

I’m so very sorry for the loss of your sweet Leslie. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

To Leslie's family, I always felt privileged to know Leslie. I met her over 10 years ago when she was still with the Army Corp of Engineers. From the moment she joined the NRC, she quickly leveraged her experience as a project manager to contribute at the NRC. At one point, both of our offices were located on the same floor. Although we were both busy, I can't recall the number of times that she stopped by to say hi and check on me and my family, or vice versa. I will truly miss our conversations. Her love for her mom, her brother, her sister-in-law, and her pride in her nephews was always evident every time we spoke. With the pandemic we weren't able to see one another since we were both teleworking. But through email, we kept in touch to check on each other. I am still trying to process that I will never have another conversation with her again in this lifetime. Or hear her tell an adorable story about her nephews who she always said were "growing too fast". My sincerest condolences to her entire family and her close friends. I will continue to pray that God provide you with peace, comfort, and over time, healing for your hearts.

I was a coworker of Leslie's at NRC. I worked with Leslie for about 5 years; she was a wonderful coworker and I will miss her very much. She was always happy to help on any project, had a great attitude and made the NRC a better place. To her family and loved ones, please accept my sincerest condolences; and thank you for sharing her with us!
