I wish Butch’s family, and friends my sincere condolences during this difficult time. He and his sister Penny came to visit a few years back to help celebrate a Family Dinner. During that visit, they were both given a position of honor and were seated at the Heads of the table. We talked and caught up over the years and I found him to be the same kind, thoughtful, and generous cousin I knew from years pass. At some point, Butch stepped away from the group and went out back. I saw him sitting there, just looking off into the woods, and I only went out to let him know that we were about to take the family photo. He was deep in thought, and I thought I had interrupted a very personal moment. He then turned to me and expressed his joy in reconnecting with this part of his family. We didn’t know when we would meet again, so we made the most of the time we had.
I will always cherish the time we had together and will fondly remember the visit.
