I offer condolences to the family and friends of George "Doc" Manning. We met as fellow students at Coppin State College in the 1970s. "Doc" became a pillar in the local jazz community and whenever our paths crossed at a show we always reminisced about those heady days when we were twentysomething and grappled with some challenging book-learning at the foot of our mutual mentor, Dr. Richard Bright. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has blessed us both mightily. "Doc" represented our alma mater well. May God rest his soul.
