Lev, I wish you, Setoria, and the family peace in knowing that "Dee" is pain free and although she leaves her loving family behind, her spirit will forevermore remain in the hearts and minds of her loving family, friends, and community.

In Loving Memory of
Delores Ann Wainwright
May 9, 1937 – May 1, 2026
Delores Ann Wainwright, lovingly known to family and friends as “Dee,” departed this life on May 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by love, elegance, devotion, and enduring compassion. Dee was a woman whose presence brought warmth into every room she entered and whose life reflected quiet excellence, unwavering dedication to family, and genuine care for others.
Born on May 9, 1937, in Richmond, VA, Delores Ann Washington was the beloved daughter of Lottie Washington. At the age of three, she relocated with her family to Baltimore, MD, a city she would proudly call home for the rest of her life and where she would build a meaningful legacy through service, relationships, and community.
Dee graduated from Frederick Douglass High School and went on to establish a remarkable career in medical administration spanning more than four decades. Her professionalism, intelligence, and commitment to excellence earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and patients alike. She served faithfully at City Hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and ultimately at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC), where she dedicated 40 years of exceptional service within the Pediatrics Department. Dee’s work was more than a profession—it was a reflection of her nurturing spirit and her lifelong desire to help and care for others. Committed to lifelong learning and professional growth, Dee pursued continuing education in medical administration at Notre Dame of Maryland University.
In 1973, Dee married Levin Wainwright Sr., and from that union came a family she deeply loved and cherished. Though their paths later changed, they shared years and memories that remained an important part of her life story.
Family was at the heart of everything Dee did. She found great joy in opening her home to loved ones, hosting gatherings filled with laughter, conversation, good food, and lasting memories. Her presence brought comfort and familiarity to those around her, and she will always be remembered for the love and care she poured into her family and friendships.
Beyond her devotion to family and career, Dee embraced life with enthusiasm and style. She was an accomplished bowler for more than 40 years, earning numerous trophies, certificates, and accolades throughout her years in competitive leagues and tournaments. One of her proudest accomplishments was achieving a remarkable score of 189 during tournament play. Bowling brought her friendship, fulfillment, and many treasured experiences over the years.
Dee also found joy in cheering on her favorite Maryland sports teams, especially the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens, and the Maryland Terrapins. She also loved reading, finding peace, inspiration, and joy within the pages of a good book.
Above all, Dee will be remembered for the grace with which she lived and the love she extended so freely. She carried herself with dignity, wisdom, and kindness, offering encouragement, stability, and compassion to those around her. Her life was a testament to dedication, perseverance, faith in family, and the beauty of showing up fully for the people you love.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her beloved daughter, Vicki Washington; son, Levin Wainwright Jr.; daughter-in-love, Setoria Wainwright; grandchildren, Levin Wainwright III and Bria MacIntyre; sister, Antoinette Marie Washington; along with a host of extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her.
Though she will be profoundly missed, Delores Ann Wainwright’s spirit will continue to live on through the love she shared, the memories she created, and the countless lives she impacted with her kindness and strength.
