I was a student at Northern High school and Dean Jones inspired us with the teachings of mind over matter. Dean Jones and the Nation Of Islam Brothers would come to school every day and drop jewels on us to prep us for the real world.

I was a student at Northern High school (now Reginald F. Lewis) and Dean Jones inspired us with the teachings of mind over matter. Despite me being a knucklehead, Dean Jones and NOI kept dropping jewels on us to prep us for the real world.

My prayers and love go out to the Family, Board of Elections Staff, and Friends. He was my Baptist Conference Advisor, my BOSS and just a friend. He will truly be missed. No more asking what’s for lunch, can you go get my breakfast, and just the funny things he would say. He reminded me so much of my Dad. I’d also buy him gadgets on his birthday and Christmas to give him something technical to do. His dash is complete. We just got another angel to watch over!

I was a student at the Reginald F. Lewis Hight School when Dean Jones came to us He was a strong Man, a positive influence and deeply cared for the student population. I pray His family finds encouragement in the legacy that he left on many " black boys" from east Baltimore. I'll remember the Inspiration the influence for us to be something and "Keep going no matter what"

It is with great sadness that I am writing in this guestbook for a man I worked with at Northern High School in Baltimore. I had deep respect for him because of his hard work ethic, his caring for the students of our school and for simply being a great friend. Be was someone I could confide in and know that regardless of his point of view, he would be honest with me.
I encourage his love ones to carry on his legacy and to lean on Jesus for strength and comfort.
Blessings to all of his family and friends.

May you find comfort in each other during this difficult time. I'm sending my deepest condolences and prayers to you and your whole family during a most difficult and emotional time in life. One cannot prepare for the loss of a loved one. But knowing that he is with GOD easiest the sorrow. May the LORD continue to covenant you with his love, grace and mercy.

Armstead Jones was my coworker at Northern High School. He served as our Dean of Students to promote positive student interactions, reduce suspensions, increase attendance and change the school's climate. I liked working with him. Students liked him. We addressed him as Dean Jones not Mr Jones. It helped establish the seriousness of his role and position. Dean Jones was large in stature but gentle in actions. Students respected him. To the family: May you find comfort in the living record and memories that he leaves behind.
