Dear Family,
You have my sincere condolences. I met Charlestina at either elementary school, PS#111 or junior high #183. I don't think she lived in the Lafayette Square Community too long, but we were friends who occasionally walked home from school together. I just remember her as being generous and kind, and a beautiful person. She recently crossed my mind, and now I see the notice of her passing and remembered her immediately. It's been more than 60 years since I saw her but her eyes never changed. May she rest in peace. She was one of God's special people.

Although time and distance have kept us apart, your presence in my life as that little girl i once was has always remained close to my heart. Today, as I pen down these words, I feel a profound sense of loss knowing that I cannot be there in person to bid you farewell.

You were not just my best friend's mother; you were a second mother to me, a beacon of kindness, love, and strength. Your warm embrace, wise counsel, and unwavering support have shaped me in ways I can never fully express.

To Portia, Sharron, and your entire family, my heart goes out to you in this time of profound loss. Your mother's legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will forever be a guiding light in our lives.

As we honor Miss T's memory, may we find solace in the love and memories she shared with us. She may have left this world, but her spirit and influence will continue to live on in each of us.
