I met James when I transferred to the 5115th TSU at Liberty Heights in August 2003. He showed me around the unit and introduced me to all the personnel. When the unit transferred to Ft Meade, I would pick him up at the light rail station at BWI in the morning and drop him off in the evening. In between drill weekends and after we both retired from the reserves, we stayed in contact. He was proud of his family during our talks. My thoughts and prayers for the Johnston family during this time of sorrow. James, rest in peace, my old friend that I will miss.
