As a member of the board of the Baltimore Jazz Alliance, I want to extend our sympathies to the family of Yawn Jones, Jr. It is clear that he was a great friend and fellow musician to many and will be greatly missed. The Baltimore Jazz Alliance is posting a tribute to Yawn Jones, written by Mitch Mirkin, on our website (www.baltimorejazz.com) and would like a photo to accompany the article. I would be most grateful if someone can provide a photo with permission for use. Please send to me at efixsen@yahoo.com
Thank you. (3/17/21)

I had the privilege of knowing Yawn as a teacher, musical collaborator, and friend since 2015, through the Music Workshop. He was one of the kindest, gentlest souls I've come across in my lifetime, and he had a huge impact on my life. I admired him greatly as a musician and as a human being. I will miss him dearly.
