Bro. Hemphill was driving force at Da'Branch. He was the force behind "From Our Table To Yours" which is our food pantry ministry at Baldwin Branch MBC. He phrased the slogan "That's how the Branch rolls" He will truly be missed. Take your rest thy good and faithful servant.

Hemp was a joy to work with at the US Postal Service. His joyful manner would make my day a blessing and we then had the joy of seeing his sister on TV with the same gift he gave out - laughter and jokes. He was truly blessed. We are praying for you family but if God's got him, we will laugh again in Glory as Jesus promised. Love, Marietta and Charles

Our Condolences and Prayers go up for the
Family During this Time Of Bereavment.

Coach Hemphill was a MAN'S MAN, who coached
and lead many players on the football fields of Woodlawn, while also showing by example how to set the Standard of Excellence high.

Many of our players grew up and went on to be Collegiate Athletes and Collegiate Graduates
Playing both Football and Basketball.

Hemphills voice would motivate you into action above and beyond your natural physical capabilities. We would rather destroy the young player in front of you, instead of facing the disappointed scowl of disgust from coach Hemphill.

COACH HEMPHILL'S excited expressions and
Joyful Spirit also motivated our personal and team successes.

COACH HEMPHILL, KNOW THAT YOUR DETERMINATION & MOTIVATION TO MOLD US INTO GREAT ATHLETES ALSO ASSISTED IN CREATING GREAT AFRICAN AMERICAN MEN OF AND FOR THE COMMUNITY.

COACH HEMPHILL You will be MISSED but
NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!

With profound and deepest sympathy we mourn the death of a life long friend and high school classmate. His bright sense of humor and love for family and his Stephens Lee High Class of 1963 are paramount. We pray that his birth into eternity is joyful and without limit. I hope we all find peace in the wonderful memories he gave us and receive comfort in knowing he has now transcended to our Heavenly Father.
God Wills It!

The most motivated and exciting person I know. Always willing to leap into the unknown, but never forgetting the people that he loved. My Branch President 248 and was very proud to serve under him. Love you forever.

I first met my friend (Hemphill) in 1993. I would see him at the Postal Conventions the we attended. He and I became good friends and I am surely going to miss his friendship and playing golf. We have lost a very good individual who never met a stranger and treated everyone with kindness. Rest on my friend.

Very sorry to hear about Hemphill passing. We grew up together in Asheville, NC and had fun playing baseball and other games in the neighborhood. Hemphill was very witty and friendly as was his sister Shirley.

RIP Big Daddy Hemphill
