Theresa, I am so, so sorry to just learn of Gladys' passing. I didn't know that she had passed until the Alzheimer's Association shared a tribute in her memory at the 17th Annual Pythias A. and Virginia I. Jones African American Community Forum on Memory Loss' first session. Gladys has been a stable presence and committed participant and supporter of our Forum for many, many years. When I learned that she was ill I sent her a card with a note. I had no idea that I would not see her beautiful smile again. Your family has our deepest and sincerest condolences. Gladys was such a faithful, beautiful and dedicated champion for caregivers. She will be truly missed."Beneath the touch of a helping hand, we can feel God's strong grasp. If we hold on we are no longer alone." Gladys let God order her steps and she was a good and faithful servant. She helped so many who had felt alone before meeting her.
With sympathy,
Ernestine Jones Jolivet and The Entire Jones Family

Mrs. Powell always holds a special place in my heart as well as my family. Mrs. Powell was my Pre-K teacher and has taught myself and many others in my family. I had the pleasure of being able to have a relationship with Mrs. Powell eve after my time after James Mosher Elementary and she has been one of the most kindest, family-oriented, and loving people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and she has been such a blessing to be apart of our lives. To the family, be encouraged. Mrs. Powell knew and loved the Lord whole-heartedly and she is in the best care of our Heavenly Father. I pray that you find peace, comfort, and joy in knowing that while she has spent her life here on this Earth that she has lived a wonderful life and has been a blessing to myself and so many others.

To one of the sweetest souls we have ever met. We truly enjoyed seeing her at St John Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN when she would come and visit her daughter Bonita and husband Will. Such a beautiful spirit who will truly be missed. Praying for the entire family during this time.
