Ms. Ella (Mom) was like a mother to me. She always treated me with kindness. She trusted me and she believed in me...2 of life's greatest gifts. I loved being in her company and knew I was blessed whenever I was. She was a very strong Black woman but I always wanted to pamper and cater to her. What little I could do for "Mom" was nothing compared to all she did for me. It's been many years since I saw Ms. Ella and that is my great regret. Just last week, my son, Joshua, and I talked about coming to Baltimore in the Spring to see her, and yesterday when he told me about his great-grandmother's passing I immediately felt the weight of loss. I'm so grateful to God for using Ms. Ella to stand in the gap for me...to be the ram in the bush...to change my life. I'll love her forever.
